NEW YORK (Diya TV) — Hirsh Vardhan Singh, a businessman and engineer, announced his candidacy to run for governor of New Jersey this week, inspired by the strict partisan politics being played in the Garden State.

Singh made his announcement from the historic Kennedy Plaza of Atlantic City, the Republican said cutting property taxes, fixing transportation and New Jersey’s schools and bringing the state to the forefront of technological innovation would be the staples of his campaign.

“We need to fix our economy, we need to get going in the right direction,” Singh said during his announcement.

New Jersey is home to the nation’s highest property taxes, this, partnered with the lack of well-paying manufacturing jobs, below par K-12 education, and state over-regulation means new leadership is needed in Singh’s mind. From his website:

Mr. Singh is a product of New Jersey.  He was born in Atlantic City, went to Egg Harbor Township High School, and earned engineering degree from NJIT, the New Jersey Institute of Technology.  For the past decade, Mr.Singh has been  a results-driven, successful businessman and has worked with, and managed, small and large teams ranging in size from small businesses to multi-billion dollar corporations providing cutting-edge engineering solutions and services nationwide across civilian and defense government agencies.
