LOS ANGELES (Diya TV) — USC basketball forward Sam Dhillon lives like the majority of NCAA student-athletes. When he’s not in the court, he’s either in the classroom, or attempting to catch up on his sleep.
However, there is one distinct difference between Dhillon and his peers: during his free time, the 6-foot-8 junior is CEO of a $3 million investment firm that’s expected to nearly triple its value next year. Additionally, Dhillon, a neuroscience and pre-med major, is working relentlessly to research a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.
His company, Quest Investment Firm, was founded three years ago after he graduated from Sacramento’s Inderkum High School with valedictorian honors — at USC, he’s also maintained the team’s highest GPA for two years running. The company provides a range a services from asset allocation to portfolio review to wealth management and investment strategy and management, according to its website. Currently, Dhillon has 34 clients, as well as three part-time employees, six solicitors, a lawyer and tax strategist.
On the company’s website, it states Dhillon “owns all responsibility for every aspect of the organization and works directly with clients as a Registered Investment Advisor.” In his bio, Dhillon lists basketball, wind surfing and hiking as his hobbies.
Additionally, Dhillon and three of his USC classmates started a mobile clinic on campus which provides free health exams for the homeless population of Los Angeles.
“The whole, kind of, goal is to have each hour planned out to have something accomplished in that one hour,” Dhillon told ESPN. “So, each hour I have, I have it planned out for either organic chemistry, anatomy work or basketball practice or client meetings or trying to do my mobile clinic or trying to grow my business.”
