SAN FRANCISCO (Diya TV) – A central California community is holding a candlelight vigil for a murdered Sikh family. The victims were identified as 8-month-old Aroohi Dheri; her mother Jasleen Kaur, her father Jasdeep Singh, and her uncle Amandeep Singh. Meanwhile, 48 year old Jesus Salgado has been charged with these killings and officials say he once worked for the family’s trucking business and has had arguments with them in the past. They believe this was all over money. Police say a second person could be involved in the kidnapping and killings as well.

In San Jose, a 74-year-old Sikh man is accused of fatally shooting his daughter-in-law in a Walmart parking lot where she worked, possibly out of anger over her plans to divorce his son. Sital Singh Dosanjh is now charged with murdering Gurpreet Kaur Dosanjh, whose body was found slumped over in a car with multiple gunshot wounds.

The Hindu American Foundation filed a complaint against the State of California, objecting to the Cisco Systems caste discrimination lawsuit the group says violates the constitutional rights of Hindu Americans. An anonymous Cisco employee claimed his Hindu supervisors cut him out of meetings and failed to promote him because he is a Dalit.
