RALEIGH, N.C. (Diya TV) — With Hurricane Helene leaving destruction in its wake in much of North Carolina and South Carolina, relief efforts by BAPS Charities have moved quickly. Their response has been more specifically targeted to the affected residents in Spartanburg, Piedmont, Asheville, and Greenville and other communities badly hit.
Volunteers from Greenville and Charlotte worked in close coordination with local emergency teams to distribute more than 620 hot meals and 252 care packages to families affected by the storm between September 29 and October 3. The operation garnered a total of 358 hours of volunteer work, with participants actively involved in meal preparation, distribution, and assembling care packages.
More generally, the BAPS Charities are devoted to community service and disaster relief assistance. As its recovery program goes on after Hurricane Helene, it commits itself to continue with its relief activities to provide all-around assistance in the rebuilding of the area.
BAPS Charities focuses on providing speedy help to affected communities with an extensive history of responding to natural disasters, and as such, the organization remains one of the most imperative partners providing relief and recovery services in the aftermath of such catastrophic events.
