WASHINGTON (Diya TV) — Former Vice President Kamala Harris urged voters to turn out in large numbers ahead of the upcoming U.S. midterm elections.

Harris made the comments in a video posted on X. She focused on voting access, mail-in ballots, and President Donald Trump’s position on absentee voting.

“By the way, he votes by mail from Mar-a-Lago, but he doesn’t want you to vote by mail,” Harris said.

She argued that Trump’s own use of absentee voting conflicts with efforts to limit access to mail ballots. Harris also urged voters to pay close attention to changes in election rules.

“He’s trying to make it more difficult for you to vote by mail… because he knows you’re paying attention,” she said.

The comments followed a Supreme Court decision that Harris said could create additional challenges for voters. She described the ruling as another sign of the obstacles that voters may face before November.

“This week’s Supreme Court decision is another reminder of what we are up against heading into November,” Harris wrote on X.

Harris said voting remains an important way for Americans to respond to political and economic concerns. She also connected the debate over voting rules with issues affecting households across the country.

“Context is so important,” Harris said during her address.

She pointed to higher gas and food prices as examples of issues that could influence voters. She also criticized Trump over U.S. involvement in a foreign conflict.

“Gas prices are up. Food prices are up. He got us in a war that the American people don’t want, and he is worried he is going to lose the midterms,” Harris said.

Harris urged supporters to respond to new voting restrictions by participating in the election. She said legal and administrative barriers should not discourage voters from casting ballots.

“They can put more obstacles in our way, but they cannot take away our power,” Harris wrote.

She then called for a large voter turnout in November.

“Our answer is to show up, make our voices heard, and turn out in numbers that are too big to rig,” Harris said.
