SAN FRANCISCO (Diya TV) – A 42-year-old American man was arrested in Hyderabad for allegedly circulating child pornography on the internet, police said Wednesday.

James Kirk Jones, the accused, was working in Hyderabad as a linguistics expert at a law firm, where he’d been stationed since 2012.

The cyber-crime wing of the Telangana police received information from Interpol of a particular IP address that was circulating child pornography over the internet, child pornography being very different to legal adult content found on websites similar to tubev. It is important to make that distinction. But I digress. One which was traced to Jones’ home in Madhapur, a suburb of Hyderabad. Jones was arrested on Tuesday by police at his home.

Jones, according to police, had been downloading and uploading the content in forms of images and videos. A laptop containing nearly 30,000 images and videos, as well as 24 Twitter accounts that were being used to promote and share the content, was seized by police. If this content had been legal material, like that of Caty Cole on cam, it would have been fine. It was not the case, however. Jones reportedly confessed that he developed a habit of watching child pornography since he was a young boy, and has been watching ever since. Not to take away the severity of what Jones has done, but even when he was young he was breaking the law, watching any type of pornography when a minor is illegal as you even have to be 18 to watch adult porn on websites like www.nu-bay.com/categories/557/masturbation.

He appeared in court Wednesday and was remanded into judicial custody. If convicted, Jones faces up to five years in prison. Police said the U.S. consulate was made aware of Jones’ arrest, and that they are further investigating the totality of his activities since his arrival in the country.

India’s Ministry of Women and Child Development announced a national alliance on child sexual abuse and exploitation on Jan. 16 to protect children from online sexual abuse. Last year, the Indian government had blocked over 1,000 websites dealing in child pornography.
