SAN FRANCISCO (Diya TV) – An Air India flight from Delhi to San Francisco made an emergency landing in Russia due to an engine issue. The plane, carrying 216 passengers and 16 crew members, landed safely at Magadan airport. The U.S. State Department confirmed American citizens were likely on board and said Air India would send a replacement aircraft for their travel to the U.S. Families are concerned, but are being assured of a safe return. Though there’s no word yet on when that will be.

No other US state has a similar helmet exemption, but Canada, the UK, and India do have such exemptions for Sikhs.

Investment bank Morgan Stanley says India’s dramatic transformation over the past decade positions it as a global growth driver. India surpassed the UK to become the fifth-largest economy and aims to be the third by 2047. Manufacturing and capex will play a larger role in GDP, driven by the “Make in India” initiative. The government’s policies and initiatives have improved economic prospects, reduced reliance on global capital, and fostered a favorable business environment.
