New York (Diya TV) — In a world where international collaboration is more urgent than ever, Women Forward International (WFI) and the Women’s Foreign Policy Group introduce an engaging panel on “The Power of Womenomics: A New Foreign Policy for the Next Generation.”
Founded by Kent Davis-Packard, WFI is a non-profit that partners the next generation with other nonprofit and private sector organizations and artists to implement solutions critical to human progress, bridging mind and heart to bring about unity, collaboration, and service to humanity.
This event will take place at the Sundaram Tagore Gallery in New York City on on Sept 24′ 2024, in conjunction with the United Nations General Assembly to facilitate cross-cultural exchange and advance women’s economic empowerment.
The evening promises a touch of glamour as actress Eugenia Kuzmina, comedian Dominika van Santen, filmmaker Alessandra Gaia Williams, and model Kate Herman model the ZariZar shawls. A networking reception will begin at 6:30 pm with live Indian music, hors d’oeuvres provided by Michelin star chef Hemant Mathur, and drinks from New York’s oldest bar, the Ear Inn, est. 1817.
Kent Davis-Packard, WFI President and Founder, emphasizes: “This is that moment, during UNGA, when east and west merge into something more as a global community. Through women taking their rightful place in the economy, we all take the next step in our journey as one human family.”
Alexa Chopivsky, Executive Director of WFPG, adds: “As our guests enjoy the handcrafted goods created by women from rural communities, we will engage in a policy discussion that showcases the benefits of fostering economic developmentthrough cultural diplomacy. It is about giving these artisans greater empowerment and access to the marketplace to improve their economic status and tell their story to global stakeholders.”
Recognizing Zarizar’s Himroo shawls as national treasures, the Government of India presented them as gifts to delegates at the 2023 G20 summit in New Delhi, and, on August 9th, Mr. Quraishi was given an award by the Maharashtra State government Ministry of Textiles for preserving the Himroo Art of Weaving. Faisal Quraishi of ZariZar states, “We are very privileged to bring our high-quality luxury products to the U.S. and hope they will be warmly embraced by the fashion community. We strongly believe that people will find our couture-quality shawls to be a stylish addition to their wardrobe.”
Displaying the ZariZar shawls will be actress, supermodel, comedian and Glamour cover girl Eugenia Kuzmina (Spy City, True Blood, New Girl, and Castle); comedian and supermodel Dominika van Santen (X-men: First Class, Prince of Persia, Snow White and the Huntsman); Alessandra Gaia Williams, actress and award-winning filmmaker; and Kate Herman, model, actress, writer (Robots on Hulu, Adventure Time, Revenge, and Who is America on Showtime).
At 6:30, a networking reception will follow the panel discussion with live Indian music and hors d’oeuvres provided by Michelin star chef Hemant Mathur from New York’s SAAR Restaurant.
