WASHINGTON (Diya TV) — President Donald Trump named Katie Zacharia, a communications adviser for Trump Media & Technology Group, as his next White House press secretary Friday, replacing Karoline Leavitt, who left the administration in August.

Trump announced the appointment on Truth Social, praising Zacharia’s communications work and support for his presidential campaigns.

“She has an unblemished record of support, and has been a loyal and brilliant supporter, right from the beginning,” Trump wrote.

Zacharia has served as a senior communications adviser for Trump Media and Truth Social since June. She previously worked briefly at the Department of Homeland Security and has appeared regularly as a conservative commentator on Fox News, Newsmax and CNN.

An attorney, Zacharia also served as a legal adviser for Fix California, the conservative organization founded by Trump ally Richard Grenell. Trump said she graduated from Pepperdine University and its law school.

Before selecting Zacharia, Trump consulted Leavitt and other advisers about the appointment, CNN reported. Zacharia visited the Oval Office on Friday morning.

Leavitt stepped down to spend more time with her husband and young children. Trump announced her departure in August and said she would remain an outside adviser. She became the youngest White House press secretary when she assumed the position at age 27 in January 2025.

Zacharia will become the administration’s chief spokesperson ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm elections. Her responsibilities will include briefing reporters, explaining administration policies and responding to questions about the president’s decisions.
