CHICAGO (Diya TV) – Rallying with Illinois Democrats, Vice President Kamala Harris framed the midterm elections as a referendum on abortion rights and the fight for democracy. Harris spoke to a small audience of the state’s most prominent Asian American influencers alongside supporters from the Asian American and Pacific Islanders Victory Fund. Other Indian American politicians also on hand included Illinois Representative Raja Krishnamoorthi and Cincinnati Mayor Aftab Pureval.
Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wrapped up a visit to China. He met with top Chinese leadership, including President Xi Jinping, for talks aimed at boosting business and strategic ties. Pakistan also owes China more than $20 billion and is asking the communist nation for debt relief.
Indian actors Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor welcomed a baby daughter into the world. Industry friends congratulated the couple. They got married earlier this year and say they will stay busy working on some upcoming movies.
