NEW DELHI (Diya TV) — US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard is on an Indo-Pacific tour of multiple countries that includes visiting India for the first time after becoming President. Gabbard met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi.

During the meeting, Modi gifted Gabbard a vase of water from the Ganga gathered during the recently held Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, and a rudraksha bead mala as a token of friendship. After the meeting, Gabbard spoke about the impact of her Hinduism on her career and life.

As a faithful disciple of Lord Krishna, she wrote that the counsel of Krishna to Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita offers comfort and encouragement for her in her difficult moments and good times as well. Gabbard highlighted the need to live her life according to her faith by serving others, as she said, “What better way to do that than to be of service to all of God’s children? I do my best every day to live a life that is pleasing to God.”

Expressing her affection for India, Gabbard shared, “I always feel at home when I’m here,” highlighting the kindness of the people and her fondness for Indian cuisine, particularly Dal Makhani, and dishes with fresh paneer.

Gabbard’s India visit is a part of a larger diplomatic trip that also covers Japan and Thailand. She will speak at the Raisina Dialogue on March 18, where she will have discussions regarding U.S.-India relations. The visit highlights the United States’ determination to enhance cooperation with India and foster stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.
