SAN FRANCISCO (Diya TV) — A jury found former Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes guilty on four out of the 11 federal charges in her criminal fraud case. She’s accused of deceiving investors and patients with her company’s failed blood testing technology. She also placed blame on her former boyfriend and ex-Theranos Chief Operating Officer Ramesh “Sunny” Balwani for allegedly misleading her about the effectiveness of the technology. The Indian American is preparing for his own criminal fraud trial later this year.
With Aftab Pureval set to become Cincinnati’s first Indian American mayor this week, another Indian American will take his old spot. Pavan Parikh has been chosen to succeed Pureval as the Hamilton County Clerk of Courts. He was unanimously chosen for the job by the Democratic Central Committee.
And now we know how Tesla CEO Elon Musk made his first hire on the Autopilot team. Musk says he connected with Ashok Elluswamy over Twitter, and now the Indian American engineer is running the division.
