NEW YORK (Diya TV) — The Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation has appointed Sapna Wadhwani as its new Fundraising and Program Managing Director. The New York-based nonprofit hopes to strengthen its mission to end Alzheimer’s disease by bringing Wadhwani’s deep experience in philanthropy, healthcare, and communications into its leadership team.
Wadhwani will lead all major fundraising efforts. These include direct mail campaigns, digital donation drives, and programs aimed at donor engagement. She will also oversee grant writing, build relationships with key supporters, and work to boost the foundation’s brand visibility. A major part of her role will be to collaborate with scientists to help communicate their latest research findings and secure media attention for new studies.
The foundation is focused on uncovering the causes of Alzheimer’s disease, improving care for those living with it, and finding a cure. Wadhwani’s appointment comes as the organization marks its 30th anniversary in the fight against the neurodegenerative disorder.
In a statement, Lucretia Holden, executive director of the Fisher Center Foundation, welcomed the new hire. “We are delighted to welcome Sapna and Lorenzo to our team, especially as we commemorate 30 years of pioneering advancements in Alzheimer’s research and medical care,” she said. “Their extensive expertise in fundraising and communications will be instrumental in amplifying our efforts to raise awareness and secure vital support for Alzheimer’s research.”
Alongside Wadhwani, the foundation also announced the hiring of Lorenzo Bartolucci, Ph.D., as its new Program and Fundraising Writer. Bartolucci will assist in crafting compelling content to support the center’s development and outreach goals.
Wadhwani comes to the role with a long track record of success in the nonprofit and healthcare sectors. She most recently served as Development Director at HealthRight International. Before that, she was Associate Vice President at CarePoint Health Systems. Her experience also includes roles such as Chief Philanthropy Officer at the Indo-American Arts Council and Director of Business Development and Marketing at Gutenberg, a global communications firm.
She earned her bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University School of Communications. Before entering the nonprofit world, Wadhwani began her career as an Emmy Award-winning journalist and segment producer at Fox News Channel.
Speaking about her new role, Wadhwani said she looks forward to building strong partnerships that support the foundation’s work. “Throughout my career, I’ve seen how effective partnerships can transform lives and communities,” she said. “I’m honored to join the Foundation and bring that same energy to the fight against Alzheimer’s—connecting more donors with our vision and amplifying the breakthrough discoveries of our researchers. I look forward to working with the team to raise awareness and secure the resources we need to make this vital work possible.”
The Fisher Center Foundation, one of the largest and most active Alzheimer’s research organizations, supports cutting-edge science aimed at understanding, treating, and eventually curing the disease. Its research efforts are based at The Rockefeller University in New York City.
