SAN JOSE, Calif. (Diya TV) — Rep. Ro Khanna ended September with $16.94 million in campaign cash, maintaining a substantial financial advantage over Republican challenger Ritesh Tandon ahead of the Nov. 3 election.

The California Democrat’s principal campaign committee, Ro for Congress Inc., reported approximately $1.48 million in receipts and $1.47 million in spending during the third quarter. Its cash balance remained nearly unchanged from the $16.93 million reported at the end of June.

Federal Election Commission records show the committee received $15.24 million and spent $9.01 million between January 2025 and September 2026. It began that period with $10.71 million, explaining why its available cash exceeds its current-cycle receipts.

Individual contributions accounted for approximately $14.18 million of the committee’s receipts. The campaign also reported about $89,000 in outstanding debt.

Tandon reported raising $14,807 during the third quarter and holding $702 at the end of September.

Khanna, who represents California’s 17th Congressional District, also held substantially more cash than several fellow Indian American House members listed in the latest disclosures.

Rep. Pramila Jayapal of Washington reported $1.77 million available, while California Rep. Ami Bera held $1.65 million. Virginia Rep. Suhas Subramanyam reported approximately $647,000.

Michigan Rep. Shri Thanedar, who lost his Democratic primary, reported $5.94 million in cash alongside $14.44 million in debt.

The third-quarter reports cover activity through Sept. 30. The FEC cautions that newly filed information can take up to forty-eight hours to appear in its summaries and may change following amendments.
