SURRY (Diya TV) — Police say the Sikh man acquitted over the bombing of a 1985 Air India flight has been killed in a suspected targeted shooting in Canada. Ripudaman Singh Malik was shot dead in his car and police found a burnt-out vehicle nearby. The motive remains unclear and there are no suspects at this time. Some analysts suspect his killing was in retribution for an open letter he wrote this year in support of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Malik was a leading figure in the Khalistani movement in Canada. He’s always denied involvement in the terror attack that killed more than 300 people.

Also known as the Middle East Quad, the grouping is aimed at promoting joint investments in areas such as energy, transportation, and security.

Congress just passed what’s being called a historic amendment authored by Indian American representative Ro Khanna to strengthen the U.S.-India defense partnership. This marks the most significant piece of legislation for U.S. and India relations out of Congress since their nuclear deal.
