SAN JOSE (Diya TV) — QuantumScape Corporation named Dr. Siva Sivaram Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Dr. Sivaram, who previously served as President, will also join the company’s board of directors. Meanwhile, Jagdeep Singh, co-founder and former CEO, will continue in his role as Chairman of the Board.
Dr. Sivaram brings a wealth of experience from the semiconductor and data storage industries, having held key leadership positions at Western Digital Corp. His tenure at Western Digital, where he focused on corporate strategy and technology, underscores his capacity to navigate complex technological landscapes and drive operational excellence.
Under Singh’s leadership, QuantumScape achieved significant milestones, including the successful development of the A0 prototype cell, known for its impressive cycle life and energy retention. Now, with Dr. Sivaram at the helm, the company aims to transition from prototype to product, with its inaugural commercial offering, QSE-5, on the horizon.
Both Singh and Dr. Sivaram expressed confidence in QuantumScape’s trajectory, emphasizing its potential to revolutionize the automotive industry with its solid-state lithium-metal battery technology. Dr. Sivaram’s expertise in scaling up manufacturing processes positions QuantumScape for continued growth and market penetration.
