SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Diya TV) —  Jashanpreet Singh, 27, of Lodi, admitted in federal court that he unlawfully dealt firearms and possessed a machine gun. Prosecutors said Singh led the Punjabi Devils, a Stockton-based outlaw motorcycle gang linked to the Hells Angels.

According to court records, Singh tried to sell multiple illegal weapons to an undercover law enforcement officer on June 6, 2025. The weapons included a short-barreled rifle, three assault-style firearms, and three machine gun conversion devices. Authorities also said Singh offered a revolver during the transaction. Federal law strictly bans machine gun conversion devices because they can turn standard firearms into automatic weapons.

Agents later searched Singh’s residence in San Joaquin County. During the search, officers found more illegal weapons. Those items included a machine gun, another conversion device, and a firearm silencer.

The search also uncovered dangerous explosive devices. Officers located a single “pineapple”-style hand grenade with a fuse and cap. They also found what investigators believed was a military-style electronic-capped claymore mine.

Because of the risk, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office Explosive Ordnance Detail responded to the scene and destroyed both devices on site. Authorities said the explosives posed an immediate safety threat.

Singh initially faced state charges related to the weapons and explosives on July 21, 2025, but he failed to appear for a scheduled court hearing. A state judge issued a bench warrant for his arrest the same day. Two days later, federal authorities received a critical alert. U.S. Customs and Border Protection notified the FBI that Singh had booked a flight to India. He planned to leave from San Francisco International Airport on July 26, 2025.

Law enforcement officers located Singh at the airport before his departure. Officers arrested him without incident and placed him into federal custody. He has remained jailed since that arrest.

Federal officials said the case was the result of a multi-agency investigation involving the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Homeland Security Investigations, Enforcement and Removal Operations, the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, the Stockton Police Department and the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Alex Cárdenas and Adrian Kinsella are prosecuting the case in federal court.

Singh faces up to five years in prison for dealing firearms and up to 10 years in prison for possessing a machine gun, along with possible fines of up to $250,000 for each count.
