NEW YORK (Diya TV) —
The ICC T20 World Cup had no shortage of wild moments. But perhaps none of them were bigger than the USA’s shocking win over the powerhouse of Pakistan. A big X factor in that stunner was the play of bowler Saurabh Netravalkar.
After a strong performance, fans discovered that he is actually not a full-time cricket player. His LinkedIn says he currently works for Oracle as a principal member of technical staff.
While it’s not his full-time job, cricket has always been a big part of Netravalkar’s life and a huge passion, dating back to his childhood in India and his days growing up in Mumbai. The balance of cricket and Netravalkar’s job in technology led to him creating an app called CricDecode which revolves around player analysis.
From moving to the United States in 2015 to study at Cornell, and now leading the United States to an improbable victory over Pakistan, Netravalkar is truly one of a kind. The next time we see the phenom is in the 2026 T20 World Cup which the US has automatically qualified for after this year’s performance.
