KARACHI (Diya TV) — Former Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander Akram Khan Ghazi was killed by unidentified assailants in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Known for leading the LeT recruitment cell from 2018 to 2020 and delivering anti-India speeches, Ghazi’s assassination marks the third high-profile killing within the Lashkar ranks in a short span.

Ghazi, a pivotal figure in LeT’s central recruitment cell, played a significant role in radicalizing terrorists who infiltrated into the Kashmir Valley. The Times of India reports Pakistani officials are investigating potential involvement from local rivals and internal conflicts within LeT.

This targeted elimination follows the recent deaths of LeT Commander Riyaz Ahmed, responsible for recruitment in PoK, and Khwaja Shahid, a mastermind of the 2018 Sunjwan terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The swift succession of these killings is viewed as a substantial blow to Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Ghazi’s killing, part of a series of assassinations of top Lashkar operatives, underscores the intensifying internal and external pressures faced by the notorious terror organization. The Pakistani spy agency ISI is reported to be downplaying the significance of Ghazi’s killing, shedding light on the complex dynamics within the region.
