WASHINGTON (Diya TV) — It’s rare these days to see anything bipartisan out of Washington, but recent comments from a Christian preacher have Democratic congressmen Ro Khanna and Raja Krishnamoorthi coming to the aid of Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.

Last week, Ramaswamy appeared on a Christian themed program “FlashPoint,” where he told the audience he shares their “Judeo-Christian values,” even though he is openly proud of his Hindu faith.

After his appearance, FlashPoint host Gene Bailey reassured viewers “this program is based 100 percent on the Christian Bible” and that “neither I nor anyone else on this team has or will ever embrace another religion.”

Pastor Hank Kunneman, who is an ardent supporter of former President Trump, was one of the other guests on “FlashPoint” and said to his congregation during his Sunday sermon that anyone who supports Ramaswamy’s candidacy “will have a fight with God.”

In response, Khanna, who has sparred with Ramaswamy on Twitter, said “this is a disgusting and anti-American attack on his faith.”

Krishnamoorthi condemned “the bigoted remarks directed toward Ramaswamy, and I hope that Republican electeds and others do the same.”

And Suhag Shukla of the Hindu American Foundation added on Twitter that she was “pleased to see this video bring Krishnamoorthi & Khanna together in solidarity with Ramaswamy, despite political differences, to speak in one voice against Hinduphobia.”

So far, Ramaswamy has yet to comment on the controversy.
