WASHINGTON (Diya TV) — President Biden put forth nominations for federal district courts and one of the nominees is Judge Sanket J. Bulsara, currently serving as a United States Magistrate Judge for the Eastern District of New York since 2017. 

Bulsara was born in the Bronx to immigrant parents and raised in New Rochelle and Edgemont, New York. His father worked as an engineer for the City of New York, while his mother served as a nurse.

Bulsara holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School, graduating cum laude in 2002, and an A.B. from Harvard College, magna cum laude, in 1998. 

Prior to his appointment as a Magistrate Judge, Bulsara served as the Acting General Counsel of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission from January 2017 to May 2017. Before that, he held various positions at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr, including as a partner. Additionally, he served as a Special Assistant District Attorney at the Kings County (Brooklyn) District Attorney’s Office and worked as an associate at Munger, Tolles & Olson L.L.P.

Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) commended Bulsara’s nomination, emphasizing his embodiment of the American Dream and dedication to justice. Schumer expressed confidence in Bulsara’s ability to uphold the law impartially and effectively.

Bulsara’s nomination marks President Biden’s forty-fifth round of nominees for federal judicial positions, bringing the total number of announced nominees to 219.

Bulsara resides in Long Island City with his wife, Christine DeLorenzo.
