YAMUNANAGAR, India (Diya TV) – India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted simultaneous raids at 14 locations in Punjab and Haryana as part of their investigation behind the attacks on the Indian Consulate in San Francisco.

The raids, spanning districts like Moga, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Gurdaspur, Mohali, and Patiala in Punjab, as well as Kurukshetra and Yamunanagar in Haryana, led to the seizure of digital data and incriminating documents involving suspects in the matter.

The NIA’s probe into the March 19 and July 2 attacks involves criminal trespass, vandalism, damage to public property, attempts to harm consulate officials as well as two separate arson attempts.

A team from the NIA visited San Francisco in August 2023 to investigate the incidents that have shocked the diaspora. As part of their investigation, the NIA crowdsourced information to identify US-based entities and individuals involved in the attacks.

The Consulate General of India in San Francisco faced attacks on March 19, with pro-Khalistan protesters damaging the premises and attempting to set it on fire. A subsequent attack occurred on July 2 when Khalistan supporters targeted the consulate, a story told first by Diya TV. A small fire was set and extinguished quickly, but the incident set off a global firestorm.
