NEW DELHI (Diya TV) — The Delhi Police Special Cell has arrested five suspected terrorists in a sweeping counterterrorism operation spanning multiple states. Officials say the group has direct links to Pakistan and was planning to use improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in future attacks. The operation began earlier this week with the arrest of two suspects. Investigators then detained three more men after uncovering fresh evidence. With these arrests, the total number of people in custody has risen to five.

According to police sources, the suspects were spread across Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Hyderabad, and Ranchi. Officers conducted raids in four to five states as part of the crackdown. Nearly eight individuals were questioned during the investigation, but only five were formally arrested. Officials confirmed that the accused were communicating with handlers in Pakistan. They used encrypted messaging apps and multiple social media platforms to stay in touch. These channels helped them share instructions, spread propaganda, and radicalize young people in India.

Investigators say the group maintained several online groups to promote extremist ideology. These groups allegedly spread hate messages aimed at creating communal tension. Police believe the suspects used this network to recruit and influence vulnerable youth across India.

Sources identified one key suspect, Ashraf Danish, as the main coordinator of the module. Danish was allegedly in charge of operations inside India while receiving guidance from Pakistan-based handlers. Authorities say he played a central role in organizing the network and gathering material for explosives.

Police also recovered a large cache of items linked to bomb-making. Officers seized hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, sulfur powder, copper sheets, ball bearings, strip wires, and electronic circuits. They also found laptops, mobile phones, and cash.

In addition, police discovered a country-made pistol and live ammunition in Danish’s possession. The materials suggest the group was preparing to assemble IEDs. Officials believe the seized chemicals and electronic parts were intended for use in making bombs and weapons.

The Pakistan angle has become a central part of the investigation. Police sources told ANI that the suspects stayed in regular contact with handlers across the border. Authorities are now working to verify the social media accounts used for communication. Investigators say the Pakistan-based operatives not only provided instructions but also encouraged the suspects to recruit others. The case highlights how digital platforms are being misused to spread terror networks and disturb religious harmony.

The arrests followed days of coordinated raids by the Delhi Police Special Cell. Teams moved across multiple states to track down the suspects and dismantle the network. Officials called the operation one of the most significant recent actions against domestic terror modules. Senior officers said more arrests could follow as the investigation continues. Authorities are also examining seized devices to gather additional intelligence. The probe may reveal links to other sleeper cells or foreign operatives.

Police officials emphasized that public safety remains their top priority. They said swift action prevented possible terror attacks and neutralized the threat before it could escalate. Security experts noted that the recovery of explosive materials shows the seriousness of the plot. They praised the Special Cell for acting quickly and cutting off the module before it could carry out violence.

The Delhi Police continue to interrogate the suspects. Forensic teams are analyzing the seized chemicals and electronic parts. Cyber teams are also tracking the online groups and encrypted accounts used by the accused. Authorities have urged citizens to stay alert and report suspicious activity. Officials stressed that cooperation between law enforcement and the public is crucial to stopping terrorism.
