LOS ANGELES (Diya TV)  —  Musician & Entrepreneur Chandrika Tandon made history by winning the Grammy Award for Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards. She received the honor for her unique album “Triveni,” an amalgamation of ancient mantras and world music, during the ceremony held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

This is Tandon’s first Grammy win and second nomination after she was nominated in 2010 for “Om Namo Narayana: Soul Call.” This year, she was nominated alongside notable artists including producer Ricky Kej, sitar player Anoushka Shankar, and Indian-origin British artist Radhika Vekaria.

“Triveni” is a seven-track album that has been designed as a meditative journey for “inner healing.” A collaborative effort with South African flutist Wouter Kellerman and Japanese cellist Eru Matsumoto, the album combines their respective styles of music with Tandon’s Sanskrit chants, set against the soothing sounds of flute and cello.

The Recording Academy presents the Grammy Awards in recognition of artistic and technical excellence in the recording industry. This category, Best New Age, Ambient, or Chant Album, recognizes excellence in New Age, ambient, or chant albums.
