LATUR, MAHARASHTRA (Diya TV)- Indian spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, founder of the Art of Living Foundation claimed that the 18 year old Malala Yousafzai “did nothing” to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, who was in Latur, Maharashtra to see the drought conditions in that area held a press conference clarifying the media about him winning the Nobel Peace Prize. “Nowadays, there is no value to the Nobel Prize. When you award it to a 16 year-old girl who hasn’t done anything, what value is left? It has become a political prize”, said the spiritual leader.

Malala Yousafzai, who was recognized for her courage and for standing up for girls right to education in Pakistan was shot to by the Taliban. She is now an activist and a strong voice for the advocacy of girls right to education. While contributing to the society mainly for human rights advocacy for education in her native, Swat valley, the young lady has crossed many hardships.

The Spiritual guru continued saying that many people asked him “to do certain things” that would fetch him the prestigious award, but he claims that he refused to do so as he did not want to get drawn into the “political play”.

Shankar’s the Art of Living Foundation has since denied that the spiritual guru said he was offered a Nobel Peace Prize, insisting that the media had “misquoted” him. According to a spokesperson for the organization, Shankar said: “What will I do with a prize? We have been doing social work for years now and it has not been for prizes. When good work is done, people think it is for a prize.”

Writer, Editor Veejay Sai pasted this tweet from Sri Sri dated 11/10/14 allegedly congratulating the Nobel Prize winners Kailash Satyarthi & Malala

As soon as this video of this press conference was released on the internet, the social media uproar ensued and tweets were flying across the internet with folks criticizing Sri Sri.

Biden, Harris take stage together, announce platform | Diya TV News

WILMINGTON, Delaware (Diya TV) — Former Vice President Joe Biden and California Senator Kamala Harris delivered remarks in their first joint press conference in Biden’s home state of Delaware. They will be formally nominated next week as the Democratic ticket challenging President Trump in November. Biden lauded Harris as the child of “America’s story” who fought for the working class and was ready to take on their opponents in this “life-changing election.”

And Harris presented Biden as a selfless leader ready to take on President Trump in November.

A key demographic both the Trump and Biden campaigns will make an effort to appeal to in the coming weeks are Indian American voters in Pennsylvania and Michigan. The number of voters of Indian descent in those states are greater in 2020 than Trump’s margin of victory four years ago. And with Harris now in the race, political analysts say Indian Americans will be a determining factor in the outcome.

Biden & Harris annouce platform for their Presidential run.

After a month of verification and certifications, Rik Mehta is officially the winner of the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate seat in New Jersey, topping Hirsh Singh. The former U.S. Food and Drug Administration official Mehta defeated Singh by just over 8,000 votes.
