DELHI (Diya TV) — Two children were stabbed to death in Uttar Pradesh in what community members describe as anti-Hindu violence.

Uttar Pradesh Police apprehended Mohammad Javed, the second accused in the murders, on Thursday. The primary suspect, Mohammad Sajid, was killed in a police encounter hours after the murders.

Javed surrendered himself to the authorities in Bareilly after evading law enforcement since the chilling crime unfolded on Tuesday evening.

The victims, identified as 12 year old Ayush and 8 year old Honey, fell prey to the brutal attack allegedly orchestrated by Sajid, who was subsequently shot dead by the police. Javed, his brother and accomplice, now faces interrogation as the investigation delves into the motive behind the heinous act.

Sajid, a barber by profession, reportedly entered the victims’ residence and attacked the three children present there with a knife. While Ayush and Honey succumbed to their injuries, the third child, Yuvraj, remains in critical condition at the hospital.

Following the murders, law enforcement launched a manhunt for Javed, announcing a reward for his arrest. With his apprehension, authorities hope to unravel the circumstances leading to the gruesome crime and provide closure to the grieving family.

The mother of the victims expressed her anguish and raised pertinent questions about the senseless act of violence. “My kids didn’t even know the difference between Hindu & Muslim. They called Mohammad Sajid & Mohammad Javed their brothers. Why did they do it?” she lamented.
