Walmart’s collaboration with Hero Ecotech Ltd., a leading Indian bicycle manufacturer, brings forth a new addition to the retailer’s range of bicycle offerings, just in time for the holiday season. Crafted under the Concord brand, these cruiser-style bikes cater to both men and women.

Hero Ecotech Ltd. is a prime example of India’s growing manufacturing prowess, contributing to Walmart’s ambitious goal of tripling exports from India to $10 billion annually by 2027. The company’s cruisers, available in Walmart’s US stores, are constructed with over 90% of raw materials sourced from India.

Walmart’s commitment to the Indian market extends beyond bicycles, with the company already exporting products across various categories. Andrea Albright, Walmart’s Executive Vice President of Sourcing, emphasized the strategic partnership with Hero Ecotech as a means to strengthen global supply resilience while contributing to economic growth worldwide.

As part of Walmart’s dedication to India’s “Make in India” initiative, the company launched Walmart Vriddhi in 2019. This growth and training program aims to empower 50,000 small businesses, enabling them to participate in domestic and global supply chains. The move aligns with Walmart’s broader vision of supporting India’s economic growth and fostering mutually beneficial trade relations between the two nations.
