SAN FRANCISCO (Diya TV) – Indian and U.S. troops are training near India’s disputed border with China at a time both countries are trying to manage rising tensions with Beijing. During the exercise, Indian soldiers were dropped from helicopters to flush out gunmen from a house in a demonstration of unarmed combat skills.

Muslim, Jewish and interfaith groups, as well as some U.S. veterans, are rallying behind three prospective Sikh recruits who earlier this year sued the United States Marine Corps in their push to attend training while maintaining their turbans and beards. Attorneys for the Marine Corps say the turbans and beards pose a combat and safety risk.

India will take over the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council for the month of December. This transition is happening at a time when the council is divided over global uncertainty, especially as the Russian invasion of Ukraine continues along with the rising global threat of China.
