TieCon, the world’s largest technology conference, is underway in Silicon Valley. This year’s line up of speakers includes former Cisco Systems CEO John Chambers, who was the keynote speaker along with other high profile entrepreneurs and venture capital partners. The White House Forum on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders kicked off at The George Washington University in Washington DC. The event is one of the largest gatherings of AAPI leaders and community influencers. Vice President Kamala Harris, the first Indian American to serve in the second highest office in the nation, paid tribute to the rich history and cultures.
Ajay Banga is the new president of the World Bank. The Indian-American business leader was elected unopposed to head the international financial institution after President Joe Biden nominated him earlier this year. Banga currently serves as Vice Chairman at General Atlantic.
