WASHINGTON (Diya TV) — Three Indian Americans are joining the Trump administration in key roles to support the President’s second term.

Kush Desai was named Deputy Press Secretary. Desai is a veteran Republican communicator and former journalist, having served in various notable positions, including deputy communications director for the 2024 Republican National Convention and communications director for the Republican Party of Iowa. At the Republican National Committee, he has been instrumental in developing messaging for battleground states such as Pennsylvania. Desai, who received a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from George Washington University, is likely to play a key role in shaping White House media strategy.

Saurabh Sharma will work in the Presidential Personnel Office as an aide in the areas of staffing and appointments. Sharma hails from Bengaluru, India. He became the national focus when he was invited to the White House in 2019 for a signing ceremony during Trump’s executive order on free speech on college campuses. A graduate in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin, Sharma previously led American Moment, a conservative organization focused on personnel development. 

Ricky Gill has been named Senior Director for South and Central Asia. Gill previously served in the National Security Council as Director for Russia and European Energy Security during Trump’s first term. He also held senior roles at the State Department, including advising on global energy projects like the Keystone XL Pipeline. Born in Lodi, California, to physician parents, Gill holds degrees from Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. Gill’s experience in energy and foreign policy positions him as a key player in advancing U.S. interests in South and Central Asia.
