BALTIMORE (Diya TV) — Sinclair Inc. has named Narinder Sahai as its new executive vice president and chief financial officer, effective immediately. The media giant announced that it continues to drive strategic growth and digital transformation across its portfolio, including local broadcast, sports, and emerging technology ventures.
Sahai takes over the CFO role from Lucy Rutishauser, who will remain with Sinclair as executive vice president to support the transition. Rutishauser plans to retire later this year and will then serve as a senior advisor.
Sahai brings over 20 years of financial leadership to the role. He has worked with both publicly traded and private-equity-backed companies across several industries. His background includes deep expertise in capital markets, treasury, investor relations, mergers and acquisitions, and financial planning and analysis. Chris Ripley, Sinclair’s president and CEO, said Sahai’s wide-ranging experience will help lead the company through its next phase of growth.
“Narinder’s proven track record and strategic financial leadership make him the right person to guide us forward,” Ripley said. “He has worked across industries, including technology and cloud services, and brings a strong focus on value creation, operational discipline, and innovation.”
Before joining Sinclair, Sahai served as CFO at Arcis, a top leisure and hospitality company. There, he managed financial planning, accounting, tax, treasury, and investor relations. He also worked as CFO at RumbleOn, a publicly traded Powersports platform. At RumbleOn, Sahai built the FP&A function, started audit and compliance programs, and helped integrate key acquisitions.
Earlier, Sahai held a leadership role at Amazon Web Services (AWS). He was head of worldwide go-to-market finance for AWS’s compute and artificial intelligence/machine learning services. His work supported global specialist sales teams and involved leading financial strategies for emerging technologies.
He also served as senior vice president, treasurer, and head of investor relations at Target Hospitality Corp. There, he led the company’s debut in the public equity markets and oversaw major debt financing deals.
Sahai spent nearly 10 years with FMC Technologies and TechnipFMC, both leading oilfield services firms. He held progressive roles in investor relations, corporate finance, operations finance, and treasury. He started his career at Delphi Corporation, where he worked in product planning, M&A, and risk management.
Sahai has a background in both finance and technology. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Electrical Communication from Thapar University in India, where he graduated as valedictorian. He earned an MBA with high distinction from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He is also a CFA charter holder.
His experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning, gained at AWS, adds a tech-forward perspective to Sinclair’s leadership team. That background is expected to support the company’s work with ATSC 3.0 broadcast technology and other innovation efforts.
Sinclair is a leading provider of local news and sports content. It owns and operates TV stations across the country and runs the Tennis Channel. The company is also investing in advanced broadcast technologies and digital ventures. Sahai said he is excited to join Sinclair during this period of change and opportunity.
“I am honored to step into this role at a time when Sinclair is transforming and growing,” Sahai said. “The company’s position at the intersection of local media, sports, and technology presents unique opportunities. I look forward to helping drive value for all stakeholders.”
