SAN FRANCISCO (Diya TV) — Canadian authorities are investigating after a mass shooting outside the Whistler Mountain ski resort. The Daily Mail is reporting Brother’s Keepers gang member Meninder Dhaliwal was assassinated along with his friend Satindera Gill. The news outlet is reporting that Dhaliwal’s family operates a $16 million a year drug and arms trafficking group. According to police, Indo-Canadian crime rings are the third largest gang organizations in Canada, behind biker gangs and Vietnamese triads.

In New Jersey, it’s the inauguration of Dada Vaswani Way, named after the late Indian spiritual leader known for treating everyone with compassion and care. He was the head of the Dada Vaswani Mission and also promoted vegetarianism and animal rights.

Indian American Dr. Ashwin Vasan is commissioner at the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. He’s now trying to convince the World Health Organization to change the name of monkeypox, saying the terminology is rooted in racist history and could have devastating impacts on communities of color.
