WASHINGTON (Diya TV) — Shalabh Kumar, founder of the Republican Hindu Coalition and an ardent supporter of Donald Trump’s presidential candidacy, has been appointed to the President-elect’s Transition Finance and Inauguration committees.

“I am honored to accept these positions with the transition team and the inauguration committee,” Kumar said in a statement. “I am looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and working together with Steve (Mnuchin) and the other members of the Trump administration to Make America Great Again,” he said.

Steve Mnuchin, the former Goldman Sachs partner who this week was named as Trump’s pick for Treasury secretary, played a key role in Trump’s campaign alongside Kumar. Together, the two instrumented the “Aab Ki baar Trump Sarkar” ad campaign.

Kumar collaborated with other Republicans in the organizing of the Humanity United Against Terror event in New Jersey on Oct. 15, and on other events during the campaign, including a meet and greet between Donald Trump and Hindu leaders in Orlando just days before the election, as well as a visit by Trump’s son-in-law to a Hindu Temple.

He also donated $898,000 to the Trump campaign.

Kumar is just the latest in a forming line of Indian-Americans Trump has chosen to surround himself with — the President-elect chose South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley to serve as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and Dr. Seema Verma as administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
