LOS ANGELES (Diya TV) — Shak Rukh Khan’s recent trip to the U.S. kicked off a bit more rough than he would have liked — the Bollywood king was detained at LAX for additional screening upon his Aug. 12 arrival in an apparent case of Muslim profiling.

However, his trip took a turn for the better after he received the warmest of greetings from students and fans at the University of Southern California.

Khan was visiting the university because his 19-year-old son, Aryan Khan, has enrolled in the school’s filmmaking program. The entirety of the Khan clan are in the U.S. to help the youngster inaugurate the next chapter of his life, Khan attended the orientation program at the university along with his wife.

Almost immediately after students recognized who Khan was, they began jockeying for position to share a moment with the star actor. Khan politely obliged their fanhood, staying to take several pictures with many of the students.

Khan later tweeted: “At USC so many lovely young boys and girls. So many hugs. So many selfies. Thanks for the ‘crowded’ welcome. Fight on kids and rule.”

During an interactive session that followed the orientation, Khan was reportedly quoted as saying:  “I am showing Aryan a lot of films, because he is going to film school now. I have made a folder with all the great English classics like ‘The Untouchables,’ ‘Goodfellas’ and Michael Douglas’ ‘Falling Down.’ I have also made another folder that has Hindi classics like ‘Do Aakhen Barah Haath,’ ‘Sholay’ and ‘Devdas’ — both Dilip saab’s and mine. I want him to see more films.”
