ALANTA (Diya TV) – SEWA International’s Atlanta Chapter raised more than $350,000 at its annual fundraiser. The Hindu humanitarian aid organization highlighted all the work it’s doing around the world. Illinois Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi and other dignitaries attended the event and also stressed the importance of more Indian Americans getting involved in the political process to have an even greater impact on the community.
Starting next year, Indian American Vaishali Udupa will be the new Commissioner for Patents at the Department of Commerce. Right now, she’s an intellectual property attorney, engineer, and currently a top executive at Hewlett Packard.
