SAN RAMON, Calif. (Diya TV) — The Bay Area Grand Ganesh Festival brought devotees, families and community leaders to San Ramon on Saturday for a day of religious and cultural programs.
The celebration took place near City Center Bishop Ranch under the theme “East Bay Ka Raja.” A 12-foot statue of Lord Ganesha served as the festival’s centerpiece.
The program began with Ganesha Pratishthapana, a Hindu consecration ceremony, followed by darshan and prayer services. Devotees later participated in Sahasra Aarti, a palanquin procession and Ganesh Visarjan.
Spartans Grand Dhol Tasha performed during the evening program. The cultural stage also featured classical dance, devotional music, bhajans and Ganesh Vandana performances.
Food stalls, local vendors and community organizations operated throughout the festival. Children participated in an art competition, crafts, games and other activities.
Local officials in attendance included San Ramon Vice Mayor Marisol Rubio; San Ramon Councilmembers Sridhar Verose and Richard Adler; BART Board President Melissa Hernandez; Dublin Mayor Sherry Hu and Councilmember John Morada; and Pleasanton Mayor Jack Balch.
Organizers credited volunteers, performers, vendors, sponsors, public safety personnel and local partners with supporting the event. The festival ran from noon to 10 p.m. at 2700 Camino Ramon.
