WASHINGTON DC (Diya TV) — A historic decision today by the U.S. Supreme Court, overturning the landmark Roe Vs. Wade ruling that gave Americans abortions rights for more than 50 years. Across the nation, protests are being planned by pro choice activists and anti abortion supporters. In Seattle, Indian American City Councilmember Kshama Sawant is expected to attend one in the city’s downtown core this evening.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s BJP parliamentary board nominated Droupadi Murmu to be president of India. Murmu is the first Tribal woman to be nominated. Modi went on to say she’s devoted her life to serving society and empowering the poor, adding he believes she will be a great President.
