SAN FRANCISCO (Diya TV) — Former Cisco CEO John Chambers received a Padma Bhushan and Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen received a Padma Shri, in India for their contributions to trade & industry.
They are among the 112 winners of Padma Awards.
Two terrorists, including one believed to be a top aide to the chief of Jaish-e-Mohammad and major player in the Pulwama terror attack, were killed during a 12-hour standoff that also left four soldiers, a policeman dead.
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with Indian Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale to discuss Kashmir and other bilateral issues. The State Department says Pompeo played an “essential role” in de-escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.
During his visit, Gokhale will meet other senior leaders in the US government.
Attorney Harmeet Dhillon, who is also the only Indian American member of the Republican National Committee, filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of five California teachers against the California Teachers Association & several school districts alleging the union and government officials violated their First Amendment rights by deducting union dues from their wages over their objections
And San Francisco Mayor London Breed appointed Manohar Raju as the city’s interim public defender, an office that provides legal representation to some 25,000 indigent people charged with crimes each year.
