SAN FRANCISCO (Diya TV) —  India says it’s tried to resolve trade issues with the US by making it easier for American dairy imports and medical devices, yet Washington decided to terminate preferential benefits to Indian exports.

The trade deficit between India and the US decreased by $1.6 billion, almost seven percent, in 2018 compared to 2017.

The hunger strike in the ICE El Paso Service Processing Center is now in it’s tenth week. Two of the hunger strikers were deported last week and advocates say health conditions of the remaining men appear to be getting worse.

Extensions of H-1B visas during 2018, especially for IT companies Tata, Cognizant and Infosys, became hard to come by as the Trump administration tightened procedures, a move seen to favor American technology firms.

The FBI arrested Prithviraj Bhikha, a former director of CISCO, charging him with defrauding the Silicon Valley networking giant of $9.3 million.

The FBI says Bhikha created shell companies outside the US & then used these companies to negotiating with third-party vendors on behalf of CISCO. He’s been released on $3 million bail.

And Indian Prime Minister Modi inaugurated new projects including the ambitious Regional Rail Transport System, a new Hindon airport terminal building and an extension of the Metro Red Line in Delhi.
