CINCINNATI, Ohio (Diya TV) — Procter & Gamble Co. (P&G) announced that Chief Operating Officer Shailesh G. Jejurikar will become the company’s new President and Chief Executive Officer, starting Jan. 1, 2026. He will succeed Jon Moeller, who will transition to the role of Executive Chairman of the Board.

With this change, Jejurikar will become the first Indian to lead the global consumer goods giant in its nearly 187-year history.

The company revealed the leadership change ahead of its annual shareholder meeting in October 2025, where Jejurikar will also be nominated for election to the Board of Directors. The decision marks a key moment in P&G’s continued focus on emerging markets and innovation-driven growth.

P&G is known for household brands like Tide, Pampers, Gillette, and Head & Shoulders. The company operates in more than 180 countries and regions worldwide.

Jejurikar joined Procter & Gamble in 1989 as an Assistant Brand Manager in the Personal Healthcare and Skincare division. Over the past 36 years, he has worked across many parts of the world, including India, North America, Europe, and Asia.

Since becoming COO in 2021, Jejurikar has held profit and loss responsibility for P&G’s Enterprise Markets. These include important regions such as Latin America, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Eastern Europe. He also leads several global functions, including Information Technology, Sales, Manufacturing, Distribution, and New Business Development.

Jejurikar previously led the company’s largest business segment—Fabric and Home Care—helping grow well-known brands and build customer trust across global markets.

He has built a track record of driving growth while maintaining high performance standards.

P&G said Jejurikar’s promotion recognizes his ability to lead a diverse, global workforce and his deep understanding of the business. Under his leadership, the company aims to keep expanding in emerging markets and building brands that connect with consumers around the world.

In a statement, Jejurikar said, “I am honored to serve as P&G’s CEO. P&G people, our brands, and our capabilities in innovation and operational excellence fuel my confidence for a future of sustained growth and value creation.”

Born and raised in India, Jejurikar earned his undergraduate degree from Mumbai University and completed his MBA at the Indian Institute of Management in Lucknow. He also attended Hyderabad Public School earlier in his academic career.

His rise to CEO is part of a growing trend of Indian-origin executives leading major global companies.

Jejurikar is 58 years old and serves as Chairman of the Board for the Cincinnati Center City Development Corp. (3CDC). He also sits on the boards of OTIS Elevator Co. and The Christ Hospital.

Jon Moeller, who has served as CEO since 2021, will remain with the company as Executive Chairman. In this role, he will support Jejurikar and guide the Board of Directors.

With Jejurikar stepping in as CEO, P&G is looking ahead to its next phase of growth. The company is expected to keep focusing on innovation, sustainability, and global expansion, especially in fast-growing markets like India and Southeast Asia.
