YUBA CITY, Calif. (Diya TV) — A 44-year-old California man, Parmvir Singh Gosal, has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a sword attack during the annual Sikh Parade in Yuba City in 2018. The attack left a man with 23 stitches to his face. Gosal admitted to attempted murder, mayhem, and other charges related to the incident.

The victim suffered significant injuries as Gosal, along with three other suspects, attacked him with swords and brass knuckles. Gosal also pleaded guilty to second-degree robbery, assault producing bodily injury, and dissuading a key witness to the sword incident.

In a separate incident, Gosal and a group assaulted a witness in Lathrop city in 2019, leaving him unconscious. The guilty plea comes as part of an ongoing investigation into a series of crimes connected to the annual Sikh Parade.

Manpreet Singh, another individual arrested in connection with the Yuba City incident, previously pleaded no contest to attempted murder and was sentenced to eight years in prison.

Gosal is scheduled to be sentenced on January 29, 2024, and faces up to 17 years and eight months in prison. The attacks shocked the Sikh community, and law enforcement authorities expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts that led to the arrest and guilty plea.
