COLUMBIA, S.C. (Diya TV) – Former U.N. Ambassador and ex-South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley is calling out a group for using her name to support Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign. Haley firmly stated, “Kamala Harris and I are total opposites on every issue. Any attempt to use my name to support her or her agenda is deceptive and wrong.”

Haley’s comments, shared first with Fox News, targeted a political action committee (PAC) previously known as “Haley Voters for Biden.” This group switched to supporting Harris after President Biden ended his re-election bid and endorsed his vice president.

The PAC, now named “Haley Voters for Harris,” pledged support for Harris soon after Biden’s endorsement. They highlighted their name change on social media, clarifying they have no affiliation with Haley or her political committees. “We do not and never claimed to speak for Nikki Haley. We are reaching out to a subset of Haley voters who will vote their consciences,” the group wrote.

In response, Haley’s campaign sent a cease and desist letter demanding the group stop using her name, image, or likeness, which might imply her support for Harris. The letter warned of legal action if the PAC fundraises under the “Haley Voters for Harris” name.

After Biden’s announcement, Harris quickly secured the Democratic nomination. “I am proud to have earned the support needed to become our party’s nominee,” Harris posted on social media. She showcased commitments from a majority of delegates for the upcoming Democratic National Convention.

The “Haley Voters for Harris” PAC, formed by anti-Trump Haley supporters, continues to advocate for Harris, emphasizing their right to engage with voters. The group has suggested Harris consider moderate running mates like Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro and North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper.

Despite initially criticizing Trump, Haley has since endorsed him. At the Republican National Convention, she stated, “For the sake of our nation, we have to go with Donald Trump.”

The PAC remains committed to supporting Harris, arguing that Trump has not earned their votes. “Our rights to engage with voters and encourage them to vote for Vice President Harris – who in our view is the clear better choice for the country – will not be suppressed,” they stated.
