NEW DELHI (Diya TV) — India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) has apprehended a key suspect linked to the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case, shedding new light on the investigation into the explosion that shook Bengaluru. Identified as Shabbir, the suspect was captured from Bellary district in Karnataka, according to sources within the anti-terror agency.
The detainment comes amidst a rigorous interrogation process aimed at extracting crucial information regarding the blast that left ten individuals injured on March 1. The explosion, triggered by an IED bomb using a timer, caused widespread concern and prompted a swift response from law enforcement agencies.
The main suspect, believed to be around 30 years old, was captured in various CCTV videos, sparking a nationwide manhunt. In one footage, he is seen entering the cafe carrying a plate of idli, while another shows him walking towards the restaurant with a bag suspected to contain the explosive device.
Following extensive analysis of additional CCTV footage, investigators uncovered evidence suggesting that the suspect altered his appearance multiple times in a bid to evade capture. Despite these efforts, law enforcement agencies remained relentless in their pursuit, leading to the recent breakthrough with Shabbir’s arrest.
