BOSTON (Diya TV) — More than 50 New England community and cultural organizations united to extend a warm welcome to the newly appointed Consul General of India, Binaya Srikant Pradhan. Hosted by the Foundation of Indian Associations (FIA) New England, the grand reception took place in the heart of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, drawing an audience of over 200 individuals representing a multitude of local Indian organizations.

Under the leadership of Mr. Abhishek Singh, the FIA-NE team orchestrated a evening that began with a captivating cultural program. Attendees were treated to dance and musical performances, setting the stage for an evening of celebration and camaraderie. The cultural segment, featuring renditions of “Vande Mataram” and dances, highlighted the rich cultural heritage of India and the vibrant talent within the community.

The event also served as a platform for Consul General Pradhan to address various topics, followed by an interactive session allowing attendees to engage directly with the chief guest. Each participating organization was honored on stage. 

During the reception, Consul General Pradhan acknowledged the substantial Indian diaspora in New England and assured his commitment to establishing a VFS Service Center in the Boston area. He also expressed willingness to pursue the possibility of a direct flight from Boston to India, emphasizing the government’s support for such initiatives.

The event highlighted the collective responsibility of all stakeholders in advancing mutual cooperation and understanding between India and the United States. Additionally, Consul General Pradhan’s assurances regarding consulate services during emergencies and crisis situations were received with jubilance and applause from the audience.

Furthermore, the FIA-NE announced plans for the Third International India Day Parade to be celebrated on August 10, 2024, in Boston Harbor, inviting Consul General Pradhan as the guest of honor. The parade, spanning over 35 countries, aims to celebrate Indian culture globally.
