TOKYO (Diya TV) — As the Tokyo Olympics comes to a close, India’s athletes are counting all their medals. This is being called the country’s greatest showing ever with a total of 7 medals, including it’s first gold in track and field thanks to javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra. This is only the second time India has ever won an individual gold medal during the Olympics. India’s men’s field hockey team also won its first medal in more than 40 years.
Alberta Canada is recognizing August as Hindu Heritage Month. Officials say it’s to show gratitude for all the good works done by that community in province, and to educate the rest of the community about Hindu beliefs and traditions.
Authorities say A Sikh temple under construction on Long Island new york was vandalized by a hate-fueled suspect who spray-painted the building with racial slurs and support for former President Donald Trump. The vile vandalism comes amid a nationwide surge in hate crimes. The racist writings were discovered days before the ninth anniversary of a mass shooting at a Sikh temple in Oak Creek, Wisconsin by a white supremacist.
