NEW YORK (Diya TV) — Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a “fruitful” roundtable with top U.S. tech CEOs, spotlighting India’s growth story in technological innovation across the world. The conference, held at the Lotte New York Palace, was attended by many industry gurus, including Sundar Pichai from Google, Shantanu Narayen from Adobe, and Jensen Huang from NVIDIA, among others. Modi saw this opportunity to talk about the future of India in these sectors – artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and biotechnology – while nudging U.S. companies toward increased collaboration with India.
Modi further asserted India’s commitment toward becoming the global hub for semiconductor manufacturing and urged US companies to take advantage of opportunities arising from the rapid technological advancements in the country. “India is making all its efforts to become the third largest economy by 2029,” Modi said.
Modi elaborated in the discussions how India is progressing in electronics, information technology, and advanced manufacturing. He challenged American companies to join India and co-develop, co-design, and co-produce new technologies. The CEOs were optimistic about transforming the Indian economy and expressed the very same enthusiasm to ‘strengthen partnerships.’
This roundtable, organized by the MIT School of Engineering, brought into necessary spotlight the role critical to the U.S.-India partnership in the global tech landscape. Modi also said that the country has to make ethical AI developments and expand the semiconductor supply chain.
“We are looking for much more interconnection than we are having currently,” they said, referring to roundtable discussions during Modi’s U.S. visit, in which he participated in the Quad Leaders’ Summit and met with U.S. President Joe Biden.
