NEW DELHI (Diya TV) — Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is calling for an increase in coronavirus testing and asked states to report their infection figures accurately and separately. This comes after hundreds of bodies were found in shallow graves or washed up on river banks in Northern India, prompting speculation on social media that they’re the remains on Covid-19 victims.
And US surgeon general Vivek Murthy is raising red flags about Covid-19 misinformation in the Indian American community. DIYA tv broadcast this virtual outreach as India battles its worst public health crisis in a century. Murthy says beware of fake news on social media platforms, especially news that makes some people underestimate Covid-19, raises suspicions of vaccines or is dismissive of masks.
And during the 2019 NBA finals, Diya TV introduced Jimmy Goldstein and Nav Bhatia to the world. Now the basketball Hall of Fame has a spot for both of them. Bhatia is a rabid Toronto Raptors fan and was honored in the James Goldstein Super Fan gallery in Springfield Massachusetts. Bhatia’s signature turban along with other mementos are on display.
