MENLO PARK, Calif. (Diya TV) — Meta Platforms has hired MongoDB CEO Chirantan “CJ” Desai to lead a new business that will offer the company’s artificial intelligence tools to corporate customers.
Desai will serve as Meta’s chief enterprise platform officer and report directly to CEO Mark Zuckerberg. Meta said Monday that its new Enterprise Platform will initially focus on the Muse AI agent, Meta Business Agent, Muse API and Muse Code. The company has not announced pricing or a launch schedule for the business offerings.
The appointment moves Desai to Meta less than 11 months after he became MongoDB’s president and CEO in November 2025. He previously led product and engineering at Cloudflare and served as president and chief operating officer at ServiceNow.
Zuckerberg said Meta plans to use its AI models, agents and computing infrastructure to build products for businesses and developers. Desai said the platform will turn that technology into tools companies can deploy in their own operations. Meta has launched Muse as a personal AI assistant; its announcement did not explain how businesses will use the agent or the other products.
MongoDB said Desai stepped down effective Monday. Its board appointed Dev Ittycheria, who led the database software company from 2014 to 2025, as interim president and CEO. The board has started searching for a permanent replacement.
MongoDB reaffirmed its financial guidance for the current quarter and fiscal year. The leadership change comes a day before the company’s scheduled investor day
