NEW YORK (Diya TV) — Fox News Media has parted ways with financial journalist Maria Bartiromo after more than 12 years with the company, Fox announced Thursday following the final broadcast of her Fox Business morning program.
Fox did not give a reason for Bartiromo’s departure. In a statement, the company thanked her for her work and wished her well.
Bartiromo hosted several programs across Fox News Media, including “Mornings with Maria,” “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street” and the Fox News program “Sunday Morning Futures.”
Fox Business will rename “Mornings with Maria” as “Mornings with Fox Business,” with rotating anchors. “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street” will become “FBN’s Wall Street,” also with rotating hosts. Jason Chaffetz will temporarily host “Sunday Morning Futures.”
Bartiromo had not publicly commented on her departure as of Thursday afternoon.
Vice President JD Vance addressed the news Thursday, saying he had not spoken with Bartiromo about the decision but praised her work.
“I love Maria,” Vance said, calling her an “amazing person” and an “amazing talent.”
Bartiromo was also among the Fox personalities whose 2020 election coverage drew legal scrutiny. Smartmatic sued Fox News and several hosts over claims involving its voting technology, while Dominion Voting Systems brought a separate defamation case against the network.
Bartiromo defended her reporting during the Dominion dispute, saying her role as a journalist was to question and investigate claims. Fox settled the Dominion case in 2023.
Bartiromo joined Fox Business Network in 2014 after two decades at CNBC, where she became known for reporting live from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Before CNBC, she worked at CNN.
During her time at Fox, Bartiromo became one of the network’s most prominent business journalists, covering financial markets, the economy and politics.
Fox has not announced Bartiromo’s next move.
