SEATTLE, Wash (Diya TV) — The Khosla family moved closer to owning the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday after NFL owners unanimously approved the sale of the team.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced the decision after owners met and voted in Atlanta. He then introduced the Khosla family, which attended the meeting through Vinod Khosla, Neeru Khosla, their son Neal Khosla and their daughter Nina Khosla.

The deal involves the sale of the Seahawks from the Estate of Paul G. Allen to the Khosla family. The approval marks a major step toward completing the transaction. The sale still must go through the remaining closing process before the family officially takes control of the franchise.

Vinod Khosla thanked Jody Allen and the Allen Trust for trusting his family with the Seahawks. He also praised Goodell and NFL staff for helping guide the process.

Khosla said his family feels fortunate to take over a team that recently won the Super Bowl. He also recognized the passion of Seahawks fans, known as the “12s,” and highlighted the importance of the Seattle community.

“We are incredibly lucky and humbled,” Khosla said.

Khosla also made clear that the family plans to take a long-term approach. Rather than making immediate changes, the new ownership group plans to learn from the Seahawks’ management and other NFL owners.

For Khosla, the goal remains straightforward: keep the team successful and compete for more championships.

“The task ahead is actually pretty simple — keep the winning streak alive, get another Super Bowl,” he said.

The Khosla family brings previous NFL ownership experience to Seattle. Vinod and Neeru Khosla once held a minority stake in the San Francisco 49ers. They have also followed football for decades and took their children to 49ers games while raising their family in the Bay Area.

The chance to buy an NFL team presented a rare opportunity. Khosla said the Seahawks’ recent success made the decision even easier.

The family also has longstanding ties to Seattle’s technology community. That connection added another reason for Khosla to pursue the Seahawks.

The Seahawks enter the ownership transition after a strong period on the field. The team’s Super Bowl success gives the new ownership group a championship foundation as it prepares for the next phase.

However, Khosla said his family understands that running an NFL franchise requires experience and careful decisions. As a result, the family plans to spend time learning how the organization operates.

Khosla also addressed Seahawks fans directly. He called the 12s one of the most passionate fan groups in the NFL and said the family feels honored to become part of that tradition.

The ownership change could bring a new chapter for the Seahawks while preserving the team’s established identity. For now, the Khosla family appears focused on continuity, long-term growth and winning.

The unanimous NFL owners’ vote represents the latest milestone in that process. Once the transaction closes, the Khosla family will begin its tenure as the new owner of the Seattle Seahawks.
